My quiet corner of the neighborhood.

Im actually extremely happy about who i got to sit next to me. these two are people who i can count on, and i know theyll keep me in line when they have to.
Jeffery: jeffs a cool dude. im pretty sure everyone knows that. hes pretty much the lead trumpet in the jazz band, along with elliot, and he wears a jacket like every day. how do those two fit together? i dunno, im just stating what i notice. im pretty sure he thinks im mentally challenged some days, as i usually forget about vocab and what the assignment was from yesterday. however, hes quite the person to talk to. if i say something funny, he can usually take it to the next level. he also isnt afraid to express what he wants, as ive learned when i say something stupid, which usually recieves a reply of "My God, Spencer..." or something else like that. thats all i really have to say. hes cool and thats that.
Samantha: oh, what would i do without her? shes a quiet person most of the time, but thats really not bad at all. she makes me happy that i dont sit next to someone who does nothing but talks about the most idiotic stuff in the world (hint: starts with "A" and ends with an insect) shes the exact opposite: doesnt usually talk, but when she does its usually smart and logical to the conversation. the other reason shes awesome is that she gives me pencils. at least three times a day. i pretty sure i owe her about 100 bucks in pencils lost, but at least im keeping estimates. most people just "borrow" pencils and dont give a lost one a second thought. for me, its a daily struggle, and (this is to her) im sorry ive cost you so much in wood and lead losses haha.
so eah, my neighbors rock

Neighbors

On my left, I  have the enigmatic Nollie Palmer. All of the way across the gap, a full four feet away, resides Aqeel Jawahir. Prior to the beginning of this year, I never really talked to Nollie on a daily basis or even that often. Now, I am able to talk to him for an hour five times a week. Of course, right now he is in the hospital due to him undergoing surgery on a cyst in his head. When I sit next to Nollie, we often mock the literature we are reading or other subjects in class. Our favorite discussion is jesting about the feminist in the class and attempting to badger her into further action. Also, we discuss music, generally rap, which Nollie is very knowledgeable of. Sometimes we discuss our plans for the week or funny anecdotes that occurred last week. Across the street is Aqeel. Unfortunately he is too far away for me to be able to make hurtful jokes to, so our relationship is different than mine and Nollies. Generally, I talk to Matthew whenever I talk to Aqeel and we then only discuss generic topics such as COD. Aqeel and I have a very efficient system of 50 Essays dispersion, where he quickly hands me the book before Mr Logsdon can see, so we both have books to take quizzes.

Aqeel Jawahir is one interesting man. Sixteen years ago, Aqeel's mother (Jackie Jawahir) was on an airplane flying over the Bermuda Triangle when she went into labor. It was over the Bermuda Triangle where the newborn Aqeel Jawahir disappeared (because they were in the Bermuda Triangle and things disappear in the Bermuda Triangle). Little Aqeel spawned in the deserts of the Middle East and joined a pack of scorpions where he grew up and raised himself. At age 11 Aqeel had finally built the airplane he had been working on for years and flew to the U.S. His plans were to fly to Los Anngeles where he would attend the AMerican Idol auditions and become the next rising star in the U.S. But on his way he flew into a flock of unicorns and crashlanded in my backyard (where he has still not repaid me for the damages but hey, hes a good guy). From here, My family eventually domesticated little Aqeel or as I like to call him "A-Queezy) and taught him math. At age 14 he was admitted into the Liberal Arts ACademy at Henry Clay. Sure a few made fun of A-Queezy's odd habits but they didn't understand his upbringing by a pack of scorpions. I fought off his bullies with my ninja skills and helped him through the years. Now, A-Queezy sits next to me in English with Mr. Logsdon. It's a miracle to see how far he has come to not even being recognized as part scorpion. Maybe one day he might even become America's first black president.
Note: Ian Foster does not deserve acknowledgement because he attempted to give me a 3 on my A.P. essay.

Having neighbors that you enjoy in a classroom setting is just as important as having neighbors that you enjoy on your street. I love my next door neighbors, and in English this year I was blessed with two more wonderful neighbors!

Macy Early: Now, I’ve known Macy since freshman year. We have had Glee marathons, celebrated birthdays with parties involving crazy oatmeal face masks, and attended dance recitals. Mrs. Early is the most most dedicated, kind, and genuine person that I have ever known. She has the most loving family and the biggest heart for basically everyone that she meets. This year I got to witness Macy work her magic as she campaigned for governor at KYA, and it was amazing seeing someone who was so passionate about what they believe.

Ian Foster: This kid keeps me on my feet. Except when he falls asleep, then I’m left to my own devices. He is my constant source of comedic relief and a pretty good self confidence booster. Forgot about the vocab quiz? It’s ok, Ian did too - so we shall fail together. Didn’t write your SOAPSTone for the third time? Neither did he. I love sitting next to Ian because many other people would disapprove of my procrastination, but he encourages it. And, not only is Ian my neighbor in class, he is also my trust fall partner! So far he is a good trust fall partner. He hasn’t dropped me...yet.

I didn’t see a prompt anywhere, but from the other few posts and the name under infinite campus, I take it I’m supposed to describe my neighbors in class. So here goes.

Spencer Dixon: He plays the guitar. He has his own band, “The Icono Class”, in which he plays the guitar. He plays guitar in jazz band. He’s a percussionist in 1st period percussion class. This is due to the requirement of being in a regular school day music class to be in jazz band. He wants to play the guitar for a living. He plays guitar.

Lauren Duffy: She plays soccer. She does too much stuff. Way to much stuff. It is very easy to make her laugh. I even got the classic example of saying “pudding” to work once. She likes to attempt to organize her time by the quarter-hour. It usually doesn’t work out. Like I said, she does too much stuff. Usually falls asleep in 1st hour after attempting to do too much stuff. She also plays soccer.

And those are my “neighbors”.

The End of the Alphabet

Wei Yang sits by Cooper Van Tatenhove. It's been pretty easy going sitting next to Coopdaddy. He doesn't take up more than his half of the table. He doesn't talk loudly or obnoxiously. And he doesn't have a repulsive odor. Sadly, I don't know much about Coopdawg; English is our only class together. But after sitting by him for a semester, I picked up on a couple of things.

1.CooperScooper always finds a way to make James feel inferior.
James: yea I think this essay deserves a two.
Coopdeeloop: you're on the wrong essay.

SnoopyCoopy: My paper is ready to go!
James: WE HAD HOMEWORK?!?!?

Okay maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but they do heckle each other quite often. And by the look of things, Coopboi always ends up laughing at the lowly James.

2. Cooprizzle always comes to class with the same attitude: chill.
Objective test today? Alright lessgo.
Big project due today: Done, check mine out.
His birthday? Yea, ish schweet.
Modern Warfare 3 released? Stayed up until 6 playing it a couple night ago. No big deal.

Never overly happy or overly whiny, Coopman's demeanor is cool and collected everyday. He is so chill that I know he won't mind these horrendous nicknames.

Du-Ev

Every year at Christmas, we go to my Mammaw and Pappaw's house, and they're kind of...alternative about their holiday food, so we end up smackin' together some ham and cheese sandwiches to celebrate the coming of the King.  Being a vegetarian, I pile my sandwhich with..........a slice of cheese and a couple of pieces of lettuce.  But it always tastes so good!!!  Moral: the bread makes the sandwich, and in English this year, I am that flimsy piece of cheese blessed to be smashed between two delightful pieces of bread!

First (in the alphabet): Lauren Duffy, the goofy, slightly clumsy, sleep-deprived pot of friendship who hands out giggles at any given moment.  The photographic guru who learned her stuff from a childhood of KET and from the extended period of time spent on the computer at 2 in the morning.  The commited, driven chickadee who dedicates her afternoons/evenings to sports/homework/extracurriculars/friends and her early mornings to the treadmills at the gym.  The rule-following, indepentent-willed, forward-thinking midfield/defense/forward soccer player (depending on the season) who benevolently initiates conversation and then listens, really listens.  Maybe it's the newspaper girl coming out.

And last (but DEFINITELY not least): Hannah Evans.  Got a birthday?  She's got a recipe.  And more than that.  A decoration.  The time and commitment and desire to make you really feel special by spending the HOURS necessary to make you the most beautiful, delightful, perfect cupcake or cookie or cake or delicacy (especially cupcakes).  The hard-core Gleek who would overwhelm a cross between Mercedes and Rachel Berry in a sing-off, Ms. Evans also expands our lunchroom table with her openness, kindness, conversational skills, and church friends.  Completely with hair either perfectly curled or perfectly straight, this chicka always has a kind word and a sparkly top.
