Du-Ev

Every year at Christmas, we go to my Mammaw and Pappaw's house, and they're kind of...alternative about their holiday food, so we end up smackin' together some ham and cheese sandwiches to celebrate the coming of the King.  Being a vegetarian, I pile my sandwhich with..........a slice of cheese and a couple of pieces of lettuce.  But it always tastes so good!!!  Moral: the bread makes the sandwich, and in English this year, I am that flimsy piece of cheese blessed to be smashed between two delightful pieces of bread!

First (in the alphabet): Lauren Duffy, the goofy, slightly clumsy, sleep-deprived pot of friendship who hands out giggles at any given moment.  The photographic guru who learned her stuff from a childhood of KET and from the extended period of time spent on the computer at 2 in the morning.  The commited, driven chickadee who dedicates her afternoons/evenings to sports/homework/extracurriculars/friends and her early mornings to the treadmills at the gym.  The rule-following, indepentent-willed, forward-thinking midfield/defense/forward soccer player (depending on the season) who benevolently initiates conversation and then listens, really listens.  Maybe it's the newspaper girl coming out.

And last (but DEFINITELY not least): Hannah Evans.  Got a birthday?  She's got a recipe.  And more than that.  A decoration.  The time and commitment and desire to make you really feel special by spending the HOURS necessary to make you the most beautiful, delightful, perfect cupcake or cookie or cake or delicacy (especially cupcakes).  The hard-core Gleek who would overwhelm a cross between Mercedes and Rachel Berry in a sing-off, Ms. Evans also expands our lunchroom table with her openness, kindness, conversational skills, and church friends.  Completely with hair either perfectly curled or perfectly straight, this chicka always has a kind word and a sparkly top.
