Star Wars vs. Star Trek

Unlike majority of my close friends, I was never interested in Star Trek. Granted, I saw newly released live action film and enjoyed it very much, I know to little about the series as a whole to have a developed opinion about it. That being said, my father exposed my brother and I to Star Wars from an early age, and to this day we watch the series fairly regularly. While I'm certainly by no means a "Star-Wars" junkie, and watch the films solely for entertainment value, I still consider myself a fan. I recall numerous occasions lying around the living room, mindlessly staring at brilliantly colored lightsabers, flashing lazer beams, and adorable space creatures. All of these things sparked my current interest in science fiction, and more importantly, provided me with a strong basis to imagine. Without movies such as Star Wars and Jurassic Park, I would lack any creativity or artistic passion whatsoever, and for that, I am grateful.
