Good and Evil

Good and Evil is a very tricky thing to approach. It has a lot to do with your own personal morals and standards. As a criminal, I might think that good is stealing money and shooting people up in gang wars, and bad is donating money or helping an old lady cross the street. As a priest, I would think that good is helping people and being charitable, and bad is stealing and killing and such. I'm sure you see my point.

There are times where the line between good and evil can blur a bit. It brings up a thought provoking moral question. Would you steal food to feed your starving family? Stealing the food would be bad, but you're poor and have no way to feed your family. You would not simply just let your family die just because you want to do the right thing. Many people argue that the right thing to do would be to steal the food, because it would be much worse to let your family die.

Good can never eliminate evil once and for all. This is simply because without evil, there would be no good. They are like foil characters in a novel. If there was no bad, everything would be considered good, and if everything was good, it would not be good, just simply normal. As such, evil could never eliminate good in the same way. Also, I believe that no matter how many people are doing evil, someone will always be doing good.
