The Journey to Becoming a Vegetable (sorta)

Technology is advancement. It's finding a better, faster, way to do things. Tasks become less arduous. Efficiency is maximized. It sounds all merry and happy, but all good things have unintended side effects. As a group, people have turned into couch potatoes. Our favorite past times are now video games, watching television, surfing the web. We have become more sedentary than ever.

These devices just make it so easy to get entertainment. Why go play baseball if you can play it on an xbox in the comfort of your very own room? Why go to outside to watch a meteor shower if you can just catch it on the news later? Why go to the library if you can search it on google? Technology puts all these experiences literally at our own finger tips.

I'm not saying we should all go back to the stone age (I myself actually have a Nintendo Gamecube, T.V., and a laptop in my room), but we have to be aware of the little ways our electronics have changed our lives. We don't have to become super athletes or gym junkies or fitness gurus, but I think taking that walk after dinner or taking the stairs to your office would really benefit us in the long run.
