in pursuit of a grey area

human nature, no, just nature, is a moral grey area.
life is built around a single concept, survival. every form of evil, malign, and even sadistic behavior is a societal definition of either a survival instinct or an adaption. anger is there in order to spare us from harm, if were attacking, we cant be attacked. hate comes from an instinct that associating with something or someone would be harmful to your survival.
of course, i still believe in and believe social rules. i am still a member of society, and i am not of a particularly violent breed of person. however, i don't believe in any real good and evil.
these concepts come from 2 things, the necessities of any group of people, and of religion. without a code of rules, we would run wild and no progress would have ever existed. that is, we needed, and probably still do, rules in order to live together successfully. and these super primitive societies started religion, partially to explain things, but also inorder to ingrain these rules emotionally.
the two things that result in chaos in Golding's allegorical novel "lord of the flies" are religion and society. but these are children, the highest form of innocence known, and they still collapse into a morally appalling state. more animals than humans.
thats whate morals are, not supreme codes of righteousness, merely rules to survive human interaction.
