My life literally revolves around music. From the moment I wake up, to the moment I go to sleep, I am either listening to music on my iPod of making some myself. I got my first iPod when I was eleven and I have been using it constantly ever since. Nowadays I keep my iPod in my room and listen to it before bed, and I listen to music on my phone during the day.
Out of all the things in the world, music affects me the most. I think that even if I was born 20 years ago, my taste in music would still be the same. I have 9 million playlists on my iPod and they are all a little too disorganized and lengthy to share, but I do have a very organized list of my favorite songs. My top five favorite songs of all time are...
5. Please Be Mine by Jonas Brothers So for those of you who knew me in middle school, you know my love for the Jonas Brothers. I am not saying they’re the best musicians on the planet or the best band ever known to man, but I love them. And this is my favorite song of theirs. It’s from their first cd ever (before they got all pop-y), and the fact that it is just them and an acoustic guitar makes me melt.
4. Because of You by Neyo Does this sound like the kind of song that I would listen to? Probably not, but every time this song comes on shuffle I can not help but smile. I remember the person who played it for me first, and I guess maybe that is the reason why I love it so much. But I really have no reason beyond that - it just makes me smile :)
3. Build Me Up Buttercup by The Foundations Now this song is one of my all time favorites. It is my duet song with Samantha (who just texted me while I was typing that...smn haha) and it reminds me of my grandma (who did not text me...but I love her anyway). It was released in 1968, and would have loved to be alive when it originally came out.
2. September by Earth, Wind, & Fire This is my second favorite song of all time because my dad burned it onto a cd for me when I was about six, and I thought it was the greatest song in the world. To this day, this type of music is my favorite because it makes me want to dance. In the song, “the 21st night of September” is mentioned, so all these years I have been waiting for something magical to happen on September 21st...nothing so far haha.
1. My forever and always favorite song of all time is What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong! This was the first song that I ever sang, and I started singing when I was two so this song has been in my life for a while. This song is very optimistic and, if you could not tell by reading the title, has a very positive view of the world. I think the fact that this was the first song that I ever really knew made it the basis for a large part of my personality/view on life.
