its seen all the time, right? red symbolizes the bad guys and blue gos for good, whether it be for the Jedi and Sith in Star Wars or Raynors Raiders and the Dominion in Starcraft. but why do we associate these colors with sides? why is blue "good" and red "evil?" what i find intriguing about this question is the multuitude of ways we can answer; Its based on our perception.
think about this: we were bombed on nine eleven by "radical" muslims working for the "evil" organization of Al Queda. most every american believes this to be true. But what about the Al Queda people? they obviously thought that what they were doing was good in some way. perhaps not for us, but for someone. they probably are thinking that America is the evil nation that is radical for our own political ideals. Its impossible for there to be one type of good and one evil. our own opinions on things determine what we think is good and evil. someone halfway across the world may think that killing little puppies is good for their religion, while we think its barbaric. because of the changes in peoples opinions and ideals over time, you cant really have a nation or world for that matter with total good and evil. books about utopias and dystopias already show this to be true. someone or something causes a small upheaval in the system that changes someones views of whats "good" and "evil."
one more thing: everyone has done something "bad." havent you been punished before? thats because someone thought you did something against their view of good, so they tried to influence those thoughts on you with negative enforcement. you can be as good as you may be, and have others believe that, but inside their is always some dark impulse inside you ready to strike and lash out at others. no one can be the perfect example of good and evil. and you cant rid the world of either.
