October 4, 1963

On this day, Hurricane Flora hit the countries Cuba and Haiti, killing over 6,000 people. Hurricane Flora was a category 4 hurricane, and it was a terrible thing. It destroyed many parts of Cuba and Haiti, and caused them to initiate several Disaster Relief programs for future hurricanes. The biggest impact this event had was on the nations of Haiti and Cuba. It devastated nations that were still growing, and caused four billion dollars in damages across the two nations. I don't know if this event had any real impact on me, but it was a terrible thing that happened.
