222-0

It was October 7th, 1916, and the date of one of the most hilarious events in the history of American sports. This was one of the most unbalanced games ever played. At just halftime, the score was already 126-0, in favor of Georgia Tech. There were some problems with knowing which teams were actually playing football that year, and there was no actual team for the University of Cumberland. They forgot to tell the Georgia Tech team, and then they were subject to a large fine if they didn’t have a team to play in Georgia. They picked thirteen random people from the school, usually fraternity brothers, and went down to Georgia. This was already going to be a game that Georgia Tech wanted to use for payback (for a baseball game the year before), and they definitely got their turn to win. So… this might not have had a huge effect on anyone now, but it was entertaining to research. I really appreciated reading about it, and hearing about their later encounters with the players of both teams as well.
