I like to sleep

In no particular order of importance:
1. What is the best sport? Not necessarily the one you play, but what sport reigns king (or queen, I suppose sports can be feminine) above all others?
2. What are the most annoying things in the world? What are your pet peeves?
3. How should we long do you sleep? Is it a waste of time? Do you nap? Do you have any bad sleep habits?

I would like to respond to my third prompt.

Sleeping is an issue that tears me in two. Given a choice, I could stay in bed all day long. However, life dictates I must be awake to go to school, do homework, and be involved in extra-curriculars. As a result, I am not allowed to sleep to my preference. There are times that I feel so scrunched for time that I wished there was not a physical need for rest. There must be a balance. So this poses the grand question: How long should we sleep? Not necessarily the amount of time that best for the body physically, but also most time efficient?

Let's start with some of my own expectations of the perfect sleep time. Sleeping the same amount of time each night establishes a great rhythm in your body. Therefore, I am looking ideally for a single time achievable all 7 days of the week. Also, naps must be eliminated, as they are difficult to regularize and will inevitable destroy the cycle.

On a typical school night, I can sleep about 6 hours each night and still function mediocrely (I begin to doze off during 4th hour, and I must fight the urge to nap after school). On the weekends, there is no pressure to wake up early for school, and I would estimate my ideal sleep time to be 11 hours (yes, I am a ridiculous sleeper). The perfect sleep time needs to provide both the ample day-time given by the school-night sleep AND the feel-good leisure of the weekend night.

Because of the flexibility allowed by the weekend (I can sleep a long time or a short time), the decision will be based on the the school night sleep time. As such, this boils down how much I can maximize sleep time on a school night. If 7 am is the time I wake up, I can reasonably increase my sleep by an hour, making the 7 hours the perfect sleep time. I will refuse to increase it by anymore, as some of my peers must wake up much earlier, for example 5:30 am. This would put bed time at 10:30 pm, which is just embarrassing.

Because of the time constraints the obligation of school has on students, the "perfect" sleep time is a paltry 7 hours. I will personally find it hard to stick to this everyday considering my sleep record is over twice that.
