I am very sentimental person. It is as simple as that. Under my bed I have multiple boxes labeled ‘Memory Box’ with an accompanying year. Over the years I have collected and stored mementos from trips, tickets from events, and notes that I’ll want to read again when I’m sitting in my rocking chair. Items such as a captains hat from our seventh grade Charleston trip and a blue feather boa from a friend’s bar mitzvah fill these boxes and spill out the sides.

Occasionally I open the box and dig through; looking at pictures, reading letters, and feeling the memories as they come flooding back. Some people may think that I’m too young to be this sentimental about earlier years of my life, and that I reminisce too often about the past. But I think that you’re never too young to remember your past and use it to enhance your future.
