October 7th, 1971

In 1959 Walt Disney began formulating his idea for a theme park on the east coast. This idea became what is now known as Disney World, whcih opened October 7th, 1971. Since then it has become the largest and most visited theme park. Disney World is an iconic place that is known world wide. It's where dreams come true! So of coarse this was a positive event in history, it was the begining of a place where a family could go to have fun and children could get up close and personal with their favorite Disney characters and moments. It has affected me personally because it created some very memorable childhood memories with me family. And later this year i am going there on a school trip, which I am very excited about. Disney World has had a positive effect on many peoples lives and is the place where dreams come true.
