Imagine... October 8th

"Imagine all the people, living life in peace." This wasn't exactly a peaceful day for Mr. John Lennon. On Monday, October 8, 1980 John Lennon was shot by Mark Chapman outside the Dakota in New York City. I would consider this a negative event. First of all any death is a sad thing, espeically a muder. He also happened to be a pretty important guy. This event had a pretty huge impact on quite a few people. As soon as the news broke out, huge crowds gathered around the Roosevelt Hospital and The Dakota (the place of his shooting). People were at The Dakota for hours chanting the lyrics to his songs. His sales went up tremendously soon after his death. At least two Beatles fans committed suicide after hearing about his death. Ten minutes of silence for prayer was held around the world. I would say that I loathe the event more than appreciate it because it was an extremely sad day around the world.
